Job Description

JOB TITLE: VC Aircraft Structural Mechanic II - Free Housing Support 

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX

PAY RATE: $35/hr (without A&P) or $40/hr (with A&P)

Very exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's largest aerospace companies! The contracts are regularly extended, and direct opportunities are often available.

Qualifying Questions:

Details:

  • 12-month contract with potential for extension

  • Per diem available for structures mechanics up to $600/week (eligible candidates only)

  • Assignment completion bonus of $10,000; returning contractors eligible for this bonus again

  • Tenured contractors eligible for additional bonuses at 360, 540 days, etc.

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, and LTD through Cigna after 30 days on contract

  • As a Tier One supplier, we have priority access to 1,000s of openings nationwide

  • Potential for additional bonuses

Summary:

  • Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty

  • Work with flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems

  • Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures

  • Sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structures in line with standard repair processes

  • Interpret technical documentation like blueprints and manufacturer's manuals

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Proficient in shop mathematics, working with schematics, assembly drawings, and operating procedures

  • Computer proficiency, including aircraft-related systems and office software

  • Ability to obtain customer access approval

  • Background check required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with VIP or specialty aircraft interiors installations (within the last 10 years)

  • FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license preferred
