Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Mechanic II - Structural

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX

PAY RATE: $35/hr without A&P and $40/hr with A&P

Very exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's largest aerospace companies! The contracts are regularly extended, and direct opportunities are often available.

Details:

  • 12-month contract with opportunities for extension

  • Per diem is authorized for structures mechanics only to the amount of $600.00/week (candidates must be eligible for per diem)

  • Program is offering an assignment completion bonus of $10,000.00

  • Returning contractors who have already received a $10k bonus are now eligible for this completion bonus again.

  • Tenured contractors are also eligible for another completion bonus at 360, 540 etc. through the turnstile

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, and LTD through Cigna after working 30 days on contract 
  • As a Tier One supplier – We have priority!

  • Potential for bonuses

Summary:

  • Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.

  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.

  • Applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.

  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals.

  • Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.

  • Locating blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.

  • Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes.

Required Skills:

  • Position requires 4+ years of experience in those duties as previously described for satisfactory performance.

  • Knowledgeable in shop mathematics and practices

  • Experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.

  • Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to: aircraft related systems and basic office software.

  • This position will require the ability to obtain customer approval for access.

  • Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude ability to obtain access.

  • A 3rd party background check relating to personal and business finances, residences, employment history, past drug use, prior military service, and criminal behavior will be conducted.

  • Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Very Important Person (VIP) aircraft or specialty aircraft interiors installations within the last ten (10) years.

  • FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant license is preferred
