JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer 4 
LOCATION: Kent, WA
PAY RATE: $88/hour

Summary: 

• Support complex software estimation efforts for aerospace and defense programs.  

• Work closely with software SMEs, contracts, and pricing teams to develop robust cost and resource estimates, analyze scope changes, and ensure alignment with system performance requirements.

• Collaborate with Software Engineering SMEs to gather basis-of-estimate data for contract proposals.

• Review and refine statements of work and contract scope documentation.

• Facilitate estimate reviews with senior management and interface with Contracts/Pricing teams.

• Coordinate proposal activities and deliverables with the Contract Proposal Lead.

• Analyze the impact of changes in software mission systems on cost, schedule, and engineering baselines.

• Maintain proposal documentation and change records for audit and configuration control.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, Master’s with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field.

• Strong systems engineering background with an understanding of system interdependencies and interface operations.

• Experience developing and presenting cost estimates with clear rationale and budget breakdowns.

• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet modeling skills.

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail—ability to question assumptions.

• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate discussions.

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
