Job Description

JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer 3 – Architecting Requirements & Interfaces
LOCATION: Everett, WA
PAY RATE: $71.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item-level

  • Support development and maintenance of functional and logical airplane/system architecture

  • Ensure Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA), and Common Mode Analyses (CMA) align with safety objectives

  • Guide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability to higher-level requirements

  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities across the V-model (item verification, system integration & verification, aircraft-level verification)

  • Support safety analyses (SSA, FMEA/FMES) and compliance with applicable aerospace/defense regulations (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761)

  • Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams during design and testing phases

  • Provide documentation and support for certification authorities (FAA/EASA)

  • Participate in technical design reviews, audits, and interchange meetings

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical field

  • 5+ years of experience in the systems engineering lifecycle within aerospace, automotive, or complex system domains

  • Hands-on experience with V-Diagram processes (requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation)

  • Knowledge of safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES)

  • Familiarity with certification frameworks (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254)

  • Strong analytical skills, technical writing, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)

  • Experience with system modeling (SysML/UML, Cameo, or equivalent)

  • Test planning and execution across multiple integration levels

  • Knowledge of aircraft design, development, and certification processes
