PAY RATE: $31.00-40.00/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Works with carbon fiber and fiberglass composite materials, assemblies, and tooling for layup, trimming, drilling, surface prep, bonding, and curing operations.

  • Performs precision drilling on composite and metal structures including stack-ups of dissimilar materials.

  • Assembles composite parts and assemblies of varying complexities and sizes.

  • Utilizes shop tools and machinery including drills, die grinders, and calipers.

  • Installs multiple fastener types including Hi-Lite, Hi-Lok, and Composi-Lok.

  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and models (paper or digital) to follow work instructions.

  • Applies hands-on aircraft manufacturing experience with both composite and metallic airframes.

  • Understands proper drill speeds and feeds for materials being worked.

  • Understands hole angularity and the importance of hole tolerances.

  • Identifies, installs, and removes common aircraft fasteners.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years working with carbon fiber and fiberglass composite materials, assemblies, and tooling.

  • Experience with precision drilling on composites and metal structures.

  • Minimum of three years of experience with aircraft fabrication and assembly or equivalent industry experience.

  • Hands-on experience in a precision manual manufacturing setting.

  • Understanding and familiarity with multiple types of fasteners (Hi-Lite, Hi-Lok, Composi-Lok).

  • Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment including drills, die grinders, and calipers.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and models.

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions.
