JOB TITLE:  Structural Design Engineer
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $86.00-$89.00/hr

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Applies knowledge of engineering and physical science principles, materials, and tools to develop, integrate, document and evaluate flight vehicle structure designs.

  • Works in collaborative environment to ensure performance, functional adequacy, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Designs primary and secondary structure for flight vehicles.

  • Designs payloads for flight vehicle applications.

  • Performs weights analysis for flight vehicle structures.

  • Performs lofting for flight vehicle structures.

  • Uses CATIA V5 3DX software for design and modeling.

  • Works with nacelle structures in design activities.

  • Applies metallic materials knowledge to structure design.

  • Applies composite materials knowledge to structure design.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3-6 years of experience, or PhD with 0-3 years of experience.

  • Experience with CATIA V5 3DX software.

  • Experience in flight vehicle primary and secondary structure design.

  • Experience in payloads design.

  • Experience in weights analysis.

  • Experience in lofting.

  • Experience with nacelle structures.

  • Knowledge of metallic materials for aerospace structures.

  • Knowledge of composite materials for aerospace structures.
