JOB TITLE: Structural Analysis-Stress Engineer
LOCATION: Palmdale, CA
PAY RATE: $120/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

• Job Type: Contract (11 months with potential for extension)

• Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance required to start.

Qualifying Questions:

• Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance?

• Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?

• Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?

Summary: 

• Performs stress analysis on new designs of primary and secondary airframe structure.

• Updates existing analyses to incorporate design changes.

• Performs stress analysis of subsystems and subsystem installations.

• Performs MRB stress analysis of metallic and composite structures.

• Uses FEA software including NASTRAN and PATRAN.

• Uses Abaqus for stress analysis.

• Uses Altair HyperMesh as a pre-processor and TMP Vision for post-processing.

• Uses CATIA V5/3DX for design and analysis.

• Interprets detail, assembly, and installation type drawings and models.

• Performs airframe primary structure layout and sizing.

Requirements:

• Active Secret Security Clearance required to start.

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Experience with FEA software including NASTRAN and PATRAN.

• Experience with Abaqus.

• Experience with Altair HyperMesh as a pre-processor.

• Experience with TMP Vision for post-processing.

• Experience with CATIA V5/3DX.

• Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX operating systems.

• Ability to interpret detail, assembly, and installation type drawings and models.

• Airframe primary structure layout and sizing.

• Hand/Excel based analysis of aerospace structures.
