We at The Structures Company have an opportunity for you as a Sr. Product Safety Engineer!

The ideal candidate will be able to perform the Responsibilities of the position and meet many of the
Knowledge/Experience requirements. This position is a great opportunity to grow into a new engineering
discipline or increase your experience in a career you have had for many years.

  • Systems Safety Assessments
  • Functional Hazard Assessments
  • Fault Tree Analysis
  • ARP 4761 and 4754

*This will be a Remote OR Onsite role out of Tustin, CA*

Responsibilities:

• Work with project engineering to develop Product Safety artifacts for new and existing
designs. An applicant must have experience with one or more safety analyses from either or both
of the major safety areas below: 1. System Safety Analysis (SSA)

  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

  • Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)

  • Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)

  • Risk identification, prioritization, and management

• Provide support and risk advice to production, maintenance, technical, project or program
personnel

 

Educational Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics or Physics from an accredited university.

Knowledge/Experience:
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering development lifecycles
• Knowledge of development assurance processes for hardware and software
• Experience with Built-In-Test and its application to RM&S preferred
• Detailed knowledge of the inputs and outputs of the various RM&S analysis techniques
• Experience with the system safety methods of ARP4761 or MIL-STD-882, with emphasis on
hazard mitigation processes
• Must have experience with a fault tree modeling
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, to include schematics, wiring
diagrams and assembly drawings
• Strong Analytical Skills
• Experience with requirements derivation and capture

Professional Requirements:
 4 or more years of relevant experience in aerospace or similar field
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and written communication skills
• Team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, adaptable to changing
environments, and able to handle multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously
