JOB TITLE: Sr. Design Engineer
LOCATION: 
Murrieta, CA
PAY RATE: $70/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Responsible for the design of aircraft structural and system modifications using 3D CAD (CATIA V5).

  • Supports complex aircraft modification programs and requires extensive experience with aircraft structures, systems integration, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

  • 10–20 years of experience in aerospace or aircraft structural and system modification programs

  • Strong understanding and practical application of engineering concepts and principles

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts in an evolving, fast-paced environment

  • Broad experience with aircraft materials and standards, including MMPDS

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft hardware such as MS, NAS, AN fasteners, bolts, rivets, screws, nuts, and bushings

  • Hands-on experience with aluminum and steel sheet metal, fiberglass, honeycomb panels, machined parts, and welding

  • Thorough understanding of airframe structures, aircraft systems, manufacturing processes, and assembly procedures

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and structural analysis techniques

  • Working knowledge of FAA rules and regulations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing and engineering analysis

  • Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules and delivering work to plan

  • Systems experience including liquid cooling, forced air cooling, and/or electrical systems

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience using CATIA V5 for aircraft design

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
