Job Description

JOB TITLE: Sr. Airworthiness Inspector
LOCATION: 
Long Beach, CA
PAY RATE: $46.42/hour

Job Details:

Summary: 

  • Inspect aircraft, components, and repairs to ensure compliance with FAA standards and airworthiness certification.

  • Perform quality control inspections and maintain accurate records.

  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements during maintenance.

  • Audit maintenance documentation for accuracy and compliance.

  • Ensure aircraft and components meet airworthiness standards before flight.

  • Mentor technicians on documentation and best practices.

  • Research logbooks and maintenance programs for ongoing inspections and compliance.

  • Monitor repair station adherence to FAA regulations.

  • Assist in training inspectors and guiding technicians in troubleshooting.

  • Sign FAA 8130-9 Statements of Conformity and perform ODA functions as assigned.

  • Support aircraft certification, including final phase and flight testing.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 6 years of aircraft/component inspection experience, including 3 years on large or mid-size aircraft.

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.

  • Proficient in Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA forms, and documentation.

  • Skilled in blueprint reading, maintenance manuals, and inspection-related documentation.

  • Familiarity with FAA certification and approval processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word; minimum typing speed of 20 WPM.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
