Job Description

JOB TITLE: Solder Touch-Up Operator (SMT) - 2nd Shift
LOCATION: Clearwater, FL
PAY RATE: Up to $22/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform detailed soldering and inspection of SMT components, using a microscope to identify and correct soldering defects.

  • Precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Use a microscope to inspect, align, and perform touch-up on SMT assemblies

  • Identify and correct solder defects such as poor wetting, voids, bridges, shorts, tombstoning, and misaligned components

  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and standard SMT component identifiers

  • Utilize basic computer skills to operate Windows-based programs

  • Sit for extended periods and perform repetitive, detailed tasks

  • Meet production schedules and support occasional overtime as needed

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of SMT soldering and touch-up experience, including fine pitch work

  • Skilled in surface mount soldering and working under a microscope

  • Able to read and interpret assembly drawings and documentation

  • Familiar with LEAN manufacturing principles

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and mentoring skills

  • IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications preferred

  • Comfortable with repetitive, detail-focused tasks and sitting for extended periods

  • Basic computer skills; able to use Windows-based programs daily

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR)

  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with potential overtime
