JOB TITLE: Software Systems Integration / Technical Writer – DEFENSE
LOCATION: Orlando, FL
PAY RATE: $58.80/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • This position involves approximately 33% hands-on testing and 66% report/technical writing.

  • The ideal candidate will have a balanced mix of testing experience and strong technical writing skills, with an emphasis on documentation and reporting.

  • Develop and execute sub-system/component-level qualification plans and procedures based on predetermined requirements.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all test events.

  • Review requirements and analyze existing qualification plans and procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Perform environmental stress screening (ESS) tests and acceptance test procedures (ATP) on COTS, subsystem, and system-level hardware.

  • Write formal technical reports verifying requirements and demonstrating compliance with test objectives and standards.

  • Support test readiness reviews (TRRs) and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (clearance not required to start)

  • Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience

  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical testing experience (e.g., shock and vibration)

  • Minimum 1 year of electrical testing experience (primarily troubleshooting)

  • Proficiency in using and preparing general test equipment, including digital multimeters, multi-channel oscilloscopes, power supplies, RF generators, and data acquisition units (DAQs)

  • Familiarity with environmental qualification testing and electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing at component, subsystem, and system levels

  • Ability to interpret analog signals, review real-time measurement data, and make immediate decisions

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting

  • Strong ability to collect, catalog, and present detailed test data and provide concise recommendations

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and leadership

  • Capable of preparing and presenting test readiness reviews (TRRs) to diverse audiences and fielding technical questions

  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating across departments

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
