JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Fort Worth, TX
PAY RATE: $30.00-105.00/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Leads and mentors a team of integration engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best-practice standards.

  • Develops, integrates, and debugs software across aircraft flight software, simulated mission systems, and laboratory setups that combine constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system-level models.

  • Owns and optimizes CI/CD pipelines by implementing reliable, repeatable builds and fostering a continuous-delivery culture.

  • Architects and enhances virtual development labs and aircraft-software processes to drive scalability and usability.

  • Designs and implements automation tools using open-source, commercial, and in-house solutions while championing reusable frameworks.

  • Coordinates cross-functional efforts and acts as the technical liaison with mission-system experts, simulation specialists, and stakeholder groups.

  • Sets architectural direction and steers system and software design for mission-critical software integration.

  • Performs hardware troubleshooting and software debugging across multiple host environments and platforms.

  • Ensures software solutions meet mission-critical performance and safety requirements.

  • Optimizes integration standards for aerospace or defense software and supports multi-program environments.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance required to start.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience equating to at least 14 years of professional development experience.

  • 6+ years of C++ programming experience.

  • 4+ years of Python programming experience.

  • 6+ years of experience with Linux or Unix operating systems.

  • 3+ years of hardware troubleshooting and integration experience.

  • 6+ years of experience with software debugging.

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of engineers.

  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).

  • Knowledge of aircraft or mission system software development cycles and exposure to simulated environments and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
