JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Fort Worth, TX
PAY RATE: $30-120/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Security Requirements: Active Secret clearance; Investigation within last 5 years or current CE enrollment; Special Access required to start

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Support software development, testing, and release cycles as the software safety expert.

  • Develop, implement, and execute the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP).

  • Conduct safety analyses including:

    • Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA)

    • Fault Tree Analyses (FTA)

    • Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA)

    • Software Hazard Analyses (SHA) using both quantitative and qualitative techniques

  • Lead contractual efforts and mentor the safety team to meet deadlines while maintaining high technical quality.

  • Coordinate system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.

  • Prepare technical reports and documentation on complex software safety issues.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance; Investigation within last 5 years or current CE enrollment; Special Access required to start

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Aerospace, Systems, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering preferred).

  • Full life-cycle experience with system safety analyses, standards, and tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in resolving complex issues, including interaction with senior leadership.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including cross-functional communication.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in safety-critical software design, coding, or testing.

  • Knowledge of software quality processes and safety requirements across the software lifecycle.

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and ARP-4754.

  • Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes.

  • Military or civilian flight experience is a plus.

  • Experience writing technical reports on complex subjects.

  • Previous work on military or government programs.

  • Experience with statistical analysis methods.

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.

  • Experience working with international customers and suppliers.

  • Experience with government contract execution.
