JOB TITLE:  Entry-Level In-Tank Sealant Mechanic - $5,000 Sign-On Bonus
LOCATION: 
North Charleston, SC
PAY RATE: $25-31/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Assemble aircraft structures and mechanical systems per work instructions and blueprints

  • Install aircraft system components such as panels and fittings

  • Apply sealants and perform bonding and grounding tasks

  • Perform wash and in-tank sealing inside fuel tanks

  • Operate mechanical lifts (e.g., ladders, tiger lifts, snorkel lifts)

  • Follow strict safety protocols and compliance regulations

  • Work in confined spaces and complete necessary certifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational or associate degree preferred

  • 1+ year of experience in assembly, mechanical, technical, or advanced manufacturing environments

  • Experience using and interpreting detailed technical documentation (blueprints, drawings, work instructions)

  • Must successfully complete screening and clearance requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, drawings, and specifications in English

  • Use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools in mechanical/assembly tasks

  • Experience applying chemical solvents, coatings, primers, adhesives, sealants, paints, and special finishes

  • Perform bond and ground measurements

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other specialized applications for documentation

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and working in confined spaces

  • Climbing/balancing on stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and inclined surfaces

  • Regular lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs

  • Flexibility to work any assigned shift
