JOB TITLE: SMT Operator - 2nd Shift
LOCATION: Clearwater, FL
PAY RATE: Up to $28/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Overtime: Available on weekends

  • Note: This is a dedicated 2nd shift role. No transfer to 1st shift will be permitted.

Summary: 

  • Support the assembly of complex printed circuit boards (PCBs) using surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole techniques.

  • Operating and maintaining automated assembly equipment, screen printing solder paste, applying adhesives, and conducting quality checks.

  • Operate SMT and/or through-hole automatic assembly equipment

  • Perform set-up, adjustments, and routine maintenance

  • Screen print solder paste (manual or semi-automatic)

  • Operate adhesive dispensing and reflow oven equipment

  • Load components onto feeders and SMT placement equipment

  • Hand place SMT components as needed

  • Use hand tools such as soldering irons, flux, and adhesives

  • Perform inspections using AOI, X-ray, and stencil printing equipment

  • Identify and correct defects using schematics, drawings, and visual aids

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and write in English

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented

  • Previous machine operator experience is highly preferred
    (Candidates with prior machine operating backgrounds tend to excel in this role.)

  • Familiarity with SMT processes and inspection tools

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly environments

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
