JOB TITLE: SMT GSE Mechanic
LOCATION: Oldsmar, FL
PAY RATE: $26-35/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing SMT/CCA manufacturing equipment

  • Diagnosing equipment failures and replacing defective modules/components

  • Performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance

  • Monitoring machine performance and driving equipment improvements

  • Working closely with production, process, product, quality, and test engineering

  • Keeping maintenance, repair, and inventory logs up to date

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Strong hands-on skill with:

    • mechanical hand tools

    • soldering equipment

    • electronics

    • pneumatics

    • hydraulics

    • mechanical systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving

  • Ability to read:

    • drawings

    • diagrams

    • prints

    • manuals

    • specifications

  • Good written and verbal communication

  • Comfortable with shift flexibility, weekend work, and chemical exposure

  • Training/certification familiarity:

    • Manufacturing Training Programs

    • PWB Handling

    • First Piece Certification

    • Component Identification

    • ESD

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mycronic Pick-and-Place (PnP) equipment

  • Experience with Universal Instruments PnP systems

  • Experience with Koh Young Technology / YesTech Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment

  • Experience with SMT CCA inline cleaning/wash processes

  • Experience with MPM screen printing equipment

  • Strong skills in problem-solving methodologies (process, product, and procedural improvements)

  • Ability to safely handle or work around chemicals used in production environments

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and first or second shifts

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in reading and writing English

  • Associate degree or technical/vocational certification in a related field
