Job Description

JOB TITLE: RS Structural Mechanic IV
LOCATION: Brunswick, GA
PAY RATE: $32.19/hour

Summary: 

  • Use advanced skills to complete work innovatively and guide the development of techniques and team members

  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, perform varied drilling and riveting operations, and ensure parts meet quality requirements

  • Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to safely layout, fabricate, and install parts

  • Adapt quickly to new tasks while maintaining efficiency and meeting schedule requirements

  • Perform riveting using tools such as pneumatic guns, drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, and reamers; remove fasteners without damaging structures

  • Read and follow work orders, operation sheets, and technical instructions for cutting, forming, and assembling materials; apply adhesives, sealants, and solvents per standard procedures

  • Inspect work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection

  • Mentor, train, and assist team members in blueprint interpretation and installation techniques

  • Maintain logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs)

  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners

  • Perform repairs per DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs; complete rework to meet conformity standards

  • Plan and organize workload to meet or exceed goal hours and deadlines; assist with overseeing projects

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and support 5S and Lean initiatives

  • Comply with all safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement policies

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 6 years of related structural assembly experience

  • Proficient with computers and related software

  • Skilled in interpreting blueprints and engineering documentation

  • Experience with close-tolerance work and specialized tools

  • Ability to solve dimensional problems using fractions, decimals, and whole numbers

  • Skilled with various measuring devices within specified tolerances

  • Ability to work any shift

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Capable of climbing ladders, stairs, and working in confined spaces

  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam; Q-stamp preferred

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
