JOB TITLE: RS Sr Aircraft Upholstery Technician
LOCATION: Dallas, TX
PAY RATE: $33.81/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various interior assemblies and subassemblies

  • Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to meet technical requirements

  • Sew, fabricate, and install covers for various panel styles, adhering to safety, quality, and productivity goals

  • Use Corridor (material tracking system) to generate part demands, track discrepancies (squawks), and sign off completed work

  • Cut and install advanced custom carpets, including unique patterns, based on design and engineering documentation

  • Act as Lead when required; oversee projects and coordinate task delegation with the Shop Lead

  • Conduct safety audits and assist team members with safety compliance

  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and job safety analysis (JSA) documentation

  • Promote and comply with Safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards; ensure protection of aircraft interiors (PTP)

  • Mentor and train junior technicians; monitor work to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are met

  • Collaborate with Leads and senior technicians to implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma tools

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 4 years of upholstery experience, including 2 years of aircraft upholstery experience, OR, 6 years of commercial upholstery experience

  • Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes, materials, and/or custom carpet installation techniques

  • Working knowledge of inspection processes, specifications, and terminology

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents

  • Computer literacy required

  • Able to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined areas, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
