Job Description

JOB TITLE: RS Avionics/Electrical Technician IV 
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $36.04/hour

Summary: 

 

  • Provide leadership, technical expertise, and guidance in performing operational and functional tests, repairs, and troubleshooting of aircraft avionics/electrical systems.

  • Ensure defect-free aircraft delivery while supporting safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

  • Serve as a technical expert in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.

  • Train and mentor team members in installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.

  • Ensure high-quality, efficient installations; guide troubleshooting processes to ensure timely, accurate repairs.

  • Demonstrate advanced repair techniques, including proper splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.

  • Oversee engineering changes and system modifications.

  • Set up and operate test equipment; perform functional and operational tests to validate performance.

  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all completed work.

  • Conduct pre-inspections of completed work to reduce rework and inspection delays.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and test electronic systems and equipment.

  • Enforce FOD prevention, tool control, 5S standards, and safety regulations.

  • Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other departments as needed.

  • Provide self-inspection capability for avionics testing.

  • Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests.

  • May train others on systems outside avionics, including hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental, or structural systems.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Six (6) years of experience in an avionics/electrical field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus four (4) years of related experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Strong cross-functional knowledge of aircraft systems beyond avionics is highly desirable.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Skills:

  • A&P license preferred.

  • FCC license preferred.

  • NCATT certification preferred.

  • APU and engine run qualifications.
