JOB TITLE: RS Avionics Electrical Technician IV
LOCATION: Dallas, TX
PAY RATE: $37.86/hour

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Lead operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems, ensuring high-quality repairs.

  • Train personnel and support cross-training goals while maintaining a safety-conscious, skilled workforce.

  • Teach installation and functional testing of avionics/electrical components per specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components and wiring, adhering to best practices (e.g., splicing, soldering).

  • Oversee engineering changes and modifications; set up and operate test equipment for functional and operational tests.

  • Maintain daily logs and documentation for all work performed.

  • Pre-inspect work to minimize rework and inspection time.

  • Enforce FOD, tool control, 5-S, and safety programs.

  • Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines on projects.

  • Teach installation and testing of avionics components as needed.

  • Perform self-inspection for avionics testing functions.

  • Conduct flight tests for aircraft certification and final phase testing, as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 6 years of avionics/electrical experience or 2 years of accredited aviation electronics schooling and 4 years of related experience.

  • A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls) preferred.

  • APU and engine run qualifications preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
