JOB TITLE: RS Aircraft Upholstery Technician II

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:
Fabricate and install flat panels, curtains, and simple covers per engineering drawings/specifications
Work with fabric, vinyl, leather, composites, adhesives, sewing machines, hand tools, and power tools
Cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads, and install panels (sidewalls, headliners, hatches, windows, etc.)
Fabricate simple metal parts as required
Use material tracking system to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off work
Support process improvements to increase safety, reduce cost, and improve efficiency (Lean Manufacturing practices)
Use Corridor system for part tracking and work documentation
Maintain compliance with safety, 5S, and PPE requirements
Identify and address unsafe conditions
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or hand tools in upholstery or carpet trades
Aerospace industry experience preferred
Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English
Ability to read/interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
Skilled with measuring tools and basic math
Computer literacy required
Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined areas, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
