Job Description

JOB TITLE: Placard & Part Making Technician I 
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $21.21/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Under direct supervision, this entry-level position is responsible for creating and producing aircraft placards, ID plates, vinyl spray masks, and performing wire stamping.

  • May also include final placard installation.

  • Read and interpret customer specifications and engineering drawings to determine proper color, font, size, and materials for placards, ID plates, spray masks, and wire stamping

  • Use Adobe Illustrator, PDF files, and Gerber Omega software to design and produce placards

  • Operate sign-cutting equipment to create spray masks per Exterior Markings Drawings

  • Produce placards in foreign languages for international aircraft requirements

  • Maintain traceability and documentation for FAA and inspection compliance

  • Use precision tools to verify that fabricated products meet engineering specs, including potential installation

  • Perform daily equipment maintenance

  • Follow all safety, housekeeping, and standard operating procedures

  • Adapt to changes in schedules and priorities

  • Contribute to process improvements using Lean Six Sigma techniques

  • Monitor and manage materials inventory to meet aircraft schedules

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

    Minimum 1 year of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications related to placards, ID plates, spray masks, and wire stamping

  • Computer experience required; graphic design experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of company policies, inspection procedures, and relevant process specifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
