JOB TITLE: MBSE Systems Engineer - Architecture
LOCATION: Orlando, FL
PAY RATE: $71.59/hour

Summary: 

  • Seeking an experienced engineer to join the MBSE team within the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Center of Excellence (COE).

  • Operate under the Integration, Test, and Evaluation (IT&E) directorate, developing and maintaining MBSE architecture models to support current and future HWIL capabilities.

  • Lead system architecture and modeling efforts, ensuring MBSE models are current, accurate, and aligned with program needs.

  • Develop and manage requirements and system models for current and next-gen RF and IR capabilities

  • Create IBDs, BDDs, Use Cases, Functional Diagrams, and other architectural views using MBSE tools

  • Maintain and update system models using SysML, UML, or domain-specific languages

  • Apply MBSE principles to ensure systems are designed and developed model-based

  • Coordinate with HWIL engineers, system product owners, and cross-functional teams

  • Perform system analysis and simulations, including performance, reliability, and trade studies

  • Develop and maintain model-based testing approaches to verify system behavior

  • Ensure model consistency, accuracy, and traceability; manage model changes

  • Build MBSE Starter Kits and training content for Cameo modeling

  • Provide training and support on MBSE principles, practices, and tools

Requirements:

  • Interim Secret required to start; Active Secret preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline

  • 5+ years professional experience in MBSE using Cameo

  • Experience with Open System Architecture (OSA) principles and SysML-based tools

  • Strong skills in system functionality definition, state diagrams, operational modes, and requirements decomposition

  • Ability to synthesize and implement system architectures across multiple HWIL systems

  • Familiarity with requirements tracking tools (DOORs, Cameo, or similar)

  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and lifecycle

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience collaborating with cross-discipline teams to derive and decompose complex requirements

  • Exposure to digital engineering environments (MBSE, digital twin)

  • Background in system-of-systems architecture and model-based design

  • Experience with operational modeling tools and formal verification processes
