Summary: 

  • Responsible for compliance with Repair Station and Quality Control Manual (RSQCM) and approved Training program.

  • Directs, plans, and lays out inspection standards, methods, and procedures in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer's specifications, and recommendations.

  • Directly supervises and manages Quality Assurance Department staff including Chief Inspector, Inspectors, and Records Personnel.

  • Assures all inspections are properly performed and that proper inspection records, reports, and forms are completed and executed prior to releasing product for return to service.

  • Approves implementation or changes to all forms and tags used by the repair station.

  • Determines that all technical data on articles overhauled or repaired are kept current with latest revisions including manufacturer's overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications, and FAA approved data.

  • Assures periodic checks on all inspection tools and calibration of precision equipment and maintains current records of those inspections and tests.

  • Assures that no defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or article released by the repair station.

  • Oversees preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of all articles maintained by the repair station and recording of results.

  • Maintains and keeps current a regulatory library including federal aviation regulations, type certificate data sheets, and FAA published airworthiness directives.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.

  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in an FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station including progressive experience in supervisory and inspector roles.

  • 5+ years of experience in an FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station specifically working on or overseeing A&P or Inspector roles on Rotorcraft including Bell, MD, and Airbus.

  • Technical degree in Aviation related field (degree may be offset by additional experience).

  • Working knowledge of FAA and Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to maintenance programs and procedures.

  • Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.

  • Experience using aircraft maintenance planning software systems such as EBIS.

  • Experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System compliance and quality metrics related to maintenance and parts.
