JOB TITLE: Flight Controls Engineer
LOCATION: Mojave, CA
SALARY: $101,000-206,000/year

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Summary: 

 

 

  • Develop and evaluate Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithms to support flight system requirements.

  • Design and analyze hypersonic vehicle plant models and flight control systems.

  • Create Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs) and perform verification analyses to ensure design compliance.

  • Support flight control system design, integration, implementation, testing, and post-flight analysis.

  • Develop engineering tools and provide regular technical updates to GNC and Vehicle Management System leadership.

  • Collaborate across teams while demonstrating integrity, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Travel as needed to support program objectives (<5%).

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Level II: Bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of relevant experience.

  • Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience.

  • Staff Level: Bachelor’s degree and 10–20 years of relevant experience.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Fundamental understanding of flight dynamics and control systems.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently.

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, Git/Bitbucket, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with aircraft, missile, launch vehicle, or hypersonic vehicle development.

  • Experience with guidance, navigation, and control algorithm design, implementation, and analysis.

  • Knowledge of autopilot design, dynamic system modeling, and flight control integration/testing.

  • Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies.

  • Advanced degree in a GNC-related technical discipline preferred.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred.
