JOB TITLE: Flight Test Telemetry Technician
LOCATION: 
Greensboro, NC
PAY RATE: Up to $43/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Travel: Approximately 50% (support for off-site flight test)

Summary: 

  • Plan and document flight test telemetry frequency licenses in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

  • Actively support flight test operations from both the Telemetry (TM) Room and TM Van.

  • Review, process, and archive flight test data following each flight.

  • Support pre- and post-flight briefings.

  • Assist Data Flight Test Engineers (FTEs) with data reduction as needed.

  • Prepare IADS screens to support aircraft instrumentation and telemetry display requirements.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment in the TM Room and TM Van.

  • Troubleshoot and repair TM-related connections, including those on the TM tower.

  • Travel to off-site flight test locations as required (approx. 50%).

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics. Equivalent work experience and/or technical training may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 5+ years of directly related work experience.

  • Prior flight test experience is strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of flight test methods, avionics systems, and FCC regulations.

  • Familiarity with Quasonix receivers and antenna control units.

  • Experience with fiber optics connection termination is preferred.

  • Proficient with IADS and engineering applications.

  • Understanding of S- and C-band frequency management.

  • Good knowledge of frequency modulation schemes.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and organizational levels.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and aircraft equipment or fuel odors may occur.

  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, and reach/stretch for extended periods.

  • Work safely and professionally in compliance with all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).

  • Ability to read, hear, speak, and see without restriction as required by the job.

  • Lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 10 lbs independently; up to 50 lbs with assistive equipment or tools.

  • Must be able to follow safety instructions and communicate effectively in business English.
