JOB TITLE: Final Line Mechanic I - Aerospace

Summary: 

• In a team-oriented environment, install parts, components, lines, and cables using required tools, prints, specs, and operational requirements.

• Ensure work meets specifications through final inspection.

• Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components.

• Rig control cables, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, engines, and associated parts.

• Perform basic repairs, including removing/replacing linkages and cutting/fitting system lines.

• Ensure the quality and efficiency of installations; perform necessary rework for conformity.

• Install system lines, valves, ducts, and ensure leak-free systems.

• Use tools and equipment (e.g., permaswage pumps, dies, wrenches) to complete installations.

• Check work to ensure defect-free installation before final inspection.

• Maintain logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs) as required.

• Keep a neat and orderly work area, supporting FOD and 5S programs and adhering to safety regulations.

• Demonstrate Manufacturing competencies in employee reviews.

• Support continuous improvement processes.

• May include flight tests on aircraft for certification and final phase testing.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 1 year of aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment).

• An A&P license may offset the required experience.

• Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.

• Capable of performing basic drilling, reaming, and fitting parts.

• Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
