Summary: 

• Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build projects

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to identify cost risks and opportunities

• Develop and maintain cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors

• Conduct site visits and engage with project stakeholders to gather data and validate estimates

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate estimates

• Stay current on construction methods, materials, labor rates, and market conditions

• Provide expert input on cost-saving opportunities, value engineering, and risk mitigation

• Maintain and update estimating tools, databases, and spreadsheets

• Participate in bid and scope reviews to support pre-construction and project planning

• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners

Requirements:

• Ability to Obtain a secret clearance 

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Estimator (CCE)

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction estimating

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry trends

• Proficiency in estimating tools such as Excel, Timberline, or similar software

• Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

• Additional certifications (e.g., LEED AP, PMP)

• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)

• Familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid)

• Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, or government construction projects
