Job Description

JOB TITLE: F-18 Electrical - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: 
New Orleans, LA
PAY RATE: Up to $43/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

  • Shift: 1st

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Maintain aircraft avionics, electrical systems, and associated equipment.

  • Remove, install, and inspect avionics/electrical components and related gear.

  • Perform daily, pre-/post-flight, and periodic aircraft inspections.

  • Support flight operations including launch, recovery, turnaround, and plane captain duties.

  • Assemble, disassemble, or modify systems and components to correct faults or support upgrades.

  • Configure aerospace vehicles and perform bench testing of equipment.

  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Conduct validation/verification testing of systems and components.

  • Document maintenance actions and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.

  • Inspect repairs and components for flightworthiness.

  • Promote safety, quality, and compliance in all work.

  • May oversee training and direct other technicians.

  • Works under general direction.

Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

  • An interim and/or final Secret Clearance post-start is required.

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with military fighter aircraft maintenance

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

  • Comfortable working variable shifts including nights and weekends

  • Minimum 1 year of experience interpreting technical manuals and publications

  • Able to work in all weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Skills:

  • F/A-18 (AT/AE) qualifications

  • Fighter avionics/electrical modification experience

  • Experience with Navy 4790.1 documentation and requirements
