JOB TITLE: Designer

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

• Schedule: 4/10A – 1st Shift

• Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required to start

Summary: 

• Designs major components, functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, promotional, or specialized products.

• Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations.

• Creates preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposals.

• Investigates design factors such as: ease of manufacture, material/equipment availability, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-to-weight efficiency, contractual specifications, and cost.

• Coordinates design development with other affected organizations.

• Produces layouts of assemblies and detailed parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products.

• Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, compliance with standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.

• Identifies design errors, omissions, or deficiencies and recommends revisions or improvements to responsible engineers or designers.

Requirements:

• Active Secret Clearance is required to start.

• 6+ years of structures experience

• 4–6 years experience with CATIA (3D design software) and 3Dx (Data Manager)

• 4–6 years experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

• 4–6 years experience with Part Tolerancing

• 4–6 years design experience in primary and secondary structures, component layout, tolerance studies, ASME Y14.5 GTOL, and trade studies

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
