Job Description

JOB TITLE: Embedded Software Engineer L4 
LOCATION: Remote, US
PAY RATE: $97/hour

Summary: 

  • Expertise in multicore processor platforms, RTOS, and embedded software design.

  • Lead the architecture, evaluation, and optimization of multicore embedded systems to ensure real-time performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, guide implementation, and mentor engineering teams.

  • Lead architecture and design of multicore embedded systems using Wind River Helix Virtualization Platform (HVP) with AMP/BMP models.

  • Evaluate and optimize multicore performance in real-time and containerized environments.

  • Develop strategies for embedded Linux, partitioned, and containerized application platforms.

  • Oversee test plans, benchmarks, and performance analysis for reliability and timing.

  • Analyze hardware/software interactions and recommend optimizations.

  • Support automation, CI/CD workflows, and architectural documentation.

  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on RTOS, partitioning, and containerization best practices.

  • Stay current with emerging multicore, real-time, and container orchestration technologies.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance required to start

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (ABET preferred, not required).

  • 9+ years of experience (Master’s +7, PhD +4 acceptable).

  • 7+ years in embedded multicore systems and partitioned OS (AMP/BMP models, hypervisors).

  • Strong expertise with embedded Linux and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Proven experience with multicore real-time systems, profiling, simulation, and debugging tools.

  • Skilled in scripting/automation (Python, Bash).

  • Knowledge of safety-critical/mixed-criticality systems and industry standards.

  • Demonstrated leadership in architecture and mentoring cross-functional teams.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
