PAY RATE: $87/hour

Summary: 

  • Perform complex trade studies, modeling, simulations, and other analyses to predict component, interconnect, and system performance, optimizing designs for E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) performance.

  • Work under minimal direction to ensure Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structural components.

  • Interface with manufacturing teams to address complex E3 design aspects and coordinate with suppliers to ensure system-level compatibility.

  • Report technical progress, issues, and resolutions to program management and customers.

  • Support project management by developing work statements, budgets, schedules, and conducting appropriate reviews.

  • Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.

  • Apply EMI engineering expertise to document and resolve complex technical challenges.

  • Conduct analyses, modeling, and simulation to optimize component and system performance.

  • Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and tests.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings in technical review boards.

  • Compile engineering data into comprehensive reports, tables, and visual summaries.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 4+ years of experience.

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited program.

  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic concepts, including RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

  • 7+ years of related work experience (Expert Level).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the defense or aerospace industry.

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC standards.

  • Prior experience with Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).

  • Experience with EMI qualification testing for aircraft LRUs, including reviewing procedures and test reports.

  • Familiarity with aircraft-level E3 requirements and test methods within MIL-STD-464.

  • Knowledge of electrical bonding best practices for E3 compliance.

  • Background in RF systems and/or computational E3 analytical software tools.

  • ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
