JOB TITLE: Electronic Avionics Soldering Technician - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: 
Kennedy Space Center, FL
PAY RATE: Up to $36/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shift: First: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform composite fabrication of detail parts and subassemblies using carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight materials commonly used in aerospace. 

  • Setting up and operating automated lay-up machines

  • Performing composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks

  • Interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and nonconformance dispositions to fabricate pre-manufactured composite materials

  • Using fabrication tooling, materials, and automated/motorized equipment

  • Completing fabrication details and subassemblies via hand lay-up or NC equipment

  • Selecting correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, and hardware to meet work statements and planned operations

  • Reporting job constraints such as workmanship errors, defects, or procedural issues in accordance with procedures

  • Preparing test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for various tests

  • Performing basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation

  • Applying routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance

  • Working on moderately complex articles using established drawings and requirements

  • Maintaining strict safety standards, including use of safety glasses, harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other equipment at all times

  • Exhibiting exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control

  • Keeping work area clean, organized, and FOD-free

  • Coordinating pertinent information with employees on other shifts

  • Working with TPS (Thermal Protection System)

Requirements:

  • Secret clearance required to start

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Typically 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Mechanical skills, including experience with torque wrenches

  • Electrical skills, including experience with adhesives and wire handling

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Skills:

  • Drilling experience

  • Painting or autobody experience

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
