JOB TITLE: Design Engineer
LOCATION: 
Orlando, FL (Telework <50%)
PAY RATE: $65.38/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (Up to 6 months with potential for extension)

  • Schedule: 4/10, 1st Shift (Every Friday off)

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance (not required to start)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Develop detailed mechanical layouts for CCA boards using PTC Creo and Windchill

  • Select connectors and ensure fit, clearance, and tolerance compliance

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support DFM/DFA reviews

  • Define and oversee test plans and manage board integration with enclosures

  • Design cable and harness assemblies (experience with Zuken is a strong plus)

  • Manage documentation and Bill of Materials (BOM) for assemblies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, systems, reliability, and manufacturing

  • Ensure designs meet aerospace/defense product requirements and IPC standards

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance (not required to start)

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with CCA board mechanical design, connector selection, and manufacturing support

  • Minimum 5 years of experience using Creo and Windchill

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product cycles

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

  • Ability to produce high-quality design documentation and guide test and integration activities

  • CCA board layout and design experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
