JOB TITLE: Design Engineer

PAY RATE: $23-84/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Independently develop and drive design solutions with minimal direction

  • Coordinate with Wiring/Avionics and VSS design teams throughout the design process

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to ensure designs are producible and meet manufacturability requirements

  • Lead and participate in periodic design reviews and coordinate design updates as designs mature

  • Manage drawing coordination and signoff to ensure compliance with cost, schedule, and performance requirements

  • Develop layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate activities with affected organizations

  • Apply configuration management principles, drafting conventions, and aerospace specifications to meet customer requirements

  • Support all phases of the aircraft lifecycle including design, fabrication, assembly, flight test, in-service support, and post-delivery modifications

  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing and customers to resolve structural and system-related issues

  • Coordinate across multiple functional organizations, including Planning, Tooling, Stress, Materials & Processes (M&P), Reliability & Maintainability (R&M), Materiel, Flight Sciences, Test, Manufacturing, and Product Focus Teams (PFTs)

  • Operate effectively with minimal supervision while contributing within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering

  • Minimum 9 years of aircraft design, test, or support experience

  • Proficiency with CATIA V5 and CCD CAD systems

  • Experience supporting C-130, C-5, P-3, and/or S-3 aircraft

  • Production line support experience

  • Familiarity with aircraft modification (mod) design

  • Strong understanding of configuration management, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
