JOB TITLE: E-3 or 767 Avionics/Electrical Mechanic – Aircraft (Defense)
LOCATION: San Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $43.05/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications, including wiring and system component work.

  • Execute complex connector terminations (shielded wires, coaxial cables, fiber optics).

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, specifications, and retrofit requirements.

  • Route, handle, seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses and cables per standard processes.

  • Assemble, install, inspect, modify, and test wire bundles and electrical assemblies; ensure compliance with government and company procedures.

  • Troubleshoot moderate-difficulty electrical and environmental system issues at organizational or depot level.

  • Conduct bench and flight-line operational testing in accordance with DoD, manufacturer, and company directives.

  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality.

  • Diagnose and correct assembly process malfunctions.

  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and safety compliance, including Hazardous Energy/Lockout-Tagout.

  • Support and train junior employees; may lead teams on complex tasks.

  • Prioritize work to meet project schedules; assist other teams as needed (General Mechanics, Structures, Avionics).

  • Adhere to SA Tool and FOD procedures.

Requirements:

  • Obtain Secret Clearance Post-Start

  • High school diploma/GED and typically 4+ years of related experience, or equivalent.

  • 4+ years of experience performing the listed electrical/electronic duties.

  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic theories and systems.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts.

  • Lift up to 35 lbs; occasional two-person lifts for >50 lbs.

  • Ascend/descend vertical ladders; work in confined spaces; stand, walk, reach overhead frequently.

  • Work at heights, on elevated platforms, and in noisy environments.

  • Use required PPE (safety shoes, eye protection, etc.).

  • Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Depot-level/modification maintenance experience.

  • Ability to operate forklift, mobile crane, or powered elevating equipment.
