JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: Palmdale, CA
PAY RATE: $80-110/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Work collaboratively to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, fabrication, and material handling.

  • Apply a strong understanding of materials and processes to define operational procedures and build sequences that promote operational excellence.

  • Evaluate equipment and tool performance to verify efficiency, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions to maintain production quality.

  • Provide input to product design to optimize manufacturing techniques, equipment utilization, and design concepts.

  • Operate within a model-based engineering environment (3DX) to support process development and system integration.

  • Participate in periodic travel as required to support program needs.

  • Leverage extensive aerospace manufacturing experience to contribute to project success and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate effectively within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to achieve production and design objectives.

  • Demonstrate the technical expertise and confidence to work independently and make critical program decisions.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years or Continuous Evaluation (CE) Enrollment

  • STEM degree (or equivalent technical education)

  • Authoring manufacturing assembly work instructions

  • Aircraft subsystems assembly and integration

  • Aircraft structures assembly

  • Hands-on production/shop floor support, including direct ownership of operations and interface with touch-labor employees

  • Reviewing engineering drawings and 3D models

  • Proficiency with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

  • On-vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft subsystems

  • Familiarity with jet engine integration, service, and maintenance

  • Wire harness and interconnect installation/integration

  • Knowledge of aircraft fuel systems

  • Experience supporting development, prototype, and first article builds (new product introduction)

  • Working knowledge of metallic part machining

  • Proficiency in 3DX, CATIA V5, and DELMIA software

  • Evaluating designs for Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) considerations

  • Manufacturing assembly planning experience

  • Aviation maintenance experience, A&P license, or equivalent background

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

  • Preferred: Experience with complete integrated air vehicle designs.
