JOB TITLE: (HPC) Systems Engineer - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: Littleton, CO
PAY RATE: $108/hour (NOOT)

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Schedule: 5/40 – 1st Shift

Summary: 

  • Administer, install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and retire Linux-based systems (RHEL/CentOS)

  • Support production infrastructure, including networking, storage, compute, monitoring, and system lifecycle management

  • Provide technical support and problem resolution for HPC environments

  • Manage and support parallel and distributed file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS)

  • Support high-speed interconnects such as InfiniBand and Omni-Path

  • Administer HPC batch scheduling systems (e.g., PBSPro, SLURM)

  • Support Panasas/Vdura storage systems

  • Implement security controls, system hardening, and compliance requirements

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities

  • Collaborate across teams and organizational boundaries to support mission objectives

Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance required to start

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS)

  • Experience supporting production infrastructure (networking, storage, compute, monitoring)

  • Experience with HPC technologies, including:

    • Parallel/distributed file systems (Lustre, GPFS)

    • High-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Omni-Path)

    • Batch schedulers (PBSPro, SLURM)

  • Experience supporting Panasas/Vdura storage

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams and organizations

  • Self-starter with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Ability to build effective relationships with technical teams and SMEs

  • Security+ certification required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Desired Skills:

  • Strong IT skills in infrastructure, applications, and system hardening

  • Experience implementing security controls in global environments

  • Experience installing and compiling vendor and open-source software

  • Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)

  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Ansible, Python, etc.)

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9

  • RHCSA certification a plus
