JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Huntsville, AL
PAY RATE: $45-50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

• Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

• Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (active clearance not required to start).

Summary: 

• Design and oversee testing of mechanical components and mechanisms for launch systems.

• Assist with design modifications, reviews, and planning for hardware development.

• Apply CREO and DSR6 (Model-Based Definition) methodologies in daily design work.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure manufacturing readiness and design integrity.

• Occasional travel may be required (<10%).

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (active clearance not required to start).

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

• Proficiency with CREO and DSR6/MBD design methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with mechanism design (e.g., moving assemblies, linkages, actuated systems).

• Familiarity with tooling and MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment).

• Knowledge of welded steel structures and AWS D17.1 standards.

• Experience with supplier interfacing or manufacturing processes.

• Background in aerospace or launch systems highly desirable.

• Some travel may be required (<10%).

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
