Job Description

JOB TITLE: Avionics Repair & Test Technician - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: Gilbert, AZ
PAY RATE: $29.33/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform depot-level repair, modification, and refurbishment of M-TADS/PNVS components

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues on mechanical, electrical, structural, and hydraulic systems

  • Conduct fault isolation, rework, and acceptance testing on subsystems and complete systems

  • Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, and waveform generators

  • Set up and operate conventional milling machines and drill presses for component repair

  • Use precision measuring tools to verify compliance with specifications and tolerances

  • Work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical procedures (RCPs, FABs, CIPs)

  • Document maintenance and repair activities in automated systems

  • Provide technical feedback to improve reliability of electro-mechanical components

  • Handle hazardous materials safely and follow PPE requirements

  • Support limited supply functions (e.g., loading/unloading, operating hoists)

  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and customers; may assist with training

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (not required to start)

  • Associate degree in a related field or 5–8 years of relevant experience

  • 1–2 years of experience with soldering (J-STD-001) for cable and harness repair

  • 1–2 years of experience in troubleshooting and fault isolation using test equipment

  • Experience operating general-purpose and automated test equipment

  • Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and processes

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work with hazardous materials/chemicals

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Safety shoes required

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solder certifications: J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721

  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems and defense/aerospace equipment

  • Familiarity with Apache Fire Control processes and procedures
