JOB TITLE: Aircraft Final Line Mechanic I
LOCATION: Savvanah, GA
PAY RATE: $25.65/hour

Summary: 

 

 

  • Perform aircraft modifications and maintenance independently, including removal and installation of airframes, engines, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.

  • Ensure compliance with procedures, performance standards, and test specifications.

  • Lead and provide direction to assigned technicians, promoting high standards of quality.

  • Act as Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) when assigned or in their absence.

  • Coordinate with Inspection to ensure FAA and internal compliance and proper documentation.

  • Operate and oversee use of ground support and special equipment.

  • Assist in training new employees on tools, manuals, and systems.

  • Collaborate across departments for overhaul or repair of customer property.

  • Maintain and track parts, labor, and documentation in the material tracking system.

  • Support Lean and 6S initiatives for efficient and safe work environments.

  • Participate in aircraft certification and final phase testing as needed.

  • Ensure secure handling and proper tagging of customer property and components.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment maintenance).

  • Experience with precision fitting and mechanical assembly preferred.

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematic diagrams.

  • Skilled in close tolerance work (e.g., drilling, reaming, precision fitting).

  • Proficient in the use of specialized tools including permaswage pumps, dies, gauges, and hydraulic mule pumps.

  • Able to install, adjust, and rig mechanical systems such as control cables, landing gear, doors, and engines.

  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical and structural systems.

  • Familiarity with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing documentation and processes (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs).

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and support 5S/FOD initiatives.

  • Responsible for quality and accuracy of work performed.

  • May be required to assist in mentoring junior mechanics and reviewing their work.

  • Will be expected to maintain clean work areas and adhere to all safety and compliance protocols.

  • May support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight testing as needed.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
