JOB TITLE: Aircraft Final Line Mechanic III
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $32.18/hour

Summary: 

  • Perform the most complex structural or aircraft installations, repairs, rework, or tests, demonstrating familiarity with all functions of components and systems; ensure all parts and assemblies meet requirements.

  • Manage parts and disposition at the assigned workstation using proper documentation and control.

  • Instruct and assist team members in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders; develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installation issues.

  • Coordinate work with other departments to maintain smooth workflow.

  • Take responsibility for the quality and efficiency of own installations; address discrepant material tags and material review requests to ensure conformity.

  • Use a variety of tools and equipment to complete component installations successfully.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and structural problems.

  • Update and sign required logs and records.

  • Plan and organize workloads and resource requirements as necessary.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area; support FOD and 5S programs; comply with all safety regulations.

  • Demonstrate Manufacturing competencies during employee effectiveness reviews.

  • Maintain and use all required logs and records (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.).

  • Support continuous improvement processes as assigned.

  • Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 5 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment)

  • Two (2) years aircraft experience preferred

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred

  • Ability to apply mathematical formulas, solving dimensional problems using fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.

  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability in the use of multiple measuring devices within specified tolerances.

  • Production Quality training preferred.

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Skilled in close-tolerance work and use of special tools; able to perform drilling, reaming, ship fitting, and all required tasks.

  • Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, tools, fixtures, and jigs.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
