Job Description

JOB TITLE: Avionics/Electrical Technician II 
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $32.18/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Performs operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems with technical proficiency

  • Installs and functionally tests electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals

  • Ensures quality and efficiency of all installations and conducts timely, accurate troubleshooting

  • Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring using proper practices (splicing, soldering, pinning)

  • Carries out engineering changes and modifications as required

  • Sets up and operates test equipment; conducts system and component performance evaluations

  • Completes and documents all work in accordance with inspection requirements

  • Tests and maintains test equipment and electronic systems

  • Adheres to company safety policies, including FOD control, tool control, and 5S initiatives

  • Adapts quickly to schedule changes and shifting priorities

  • May participate in aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests as required

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited aviation electronics schooling and two (2) years of related experience

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred

  • FCC license preferred

  • NCATT certification preferred

  • Preferred knowledge of other aircraft systems including hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental systems, or structural repairs

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
