JOB TITLE: RS Aircraft Upholstery Technician II - 2nd Shift
LOCATION: Dallas, TX
PAY RATE: $26.93/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Fabricate and install flat panels and curtains using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications

  • Sew simple covers and work with materials such as fabric, vinyl, leather, and composites using adhesives, sewing machines, hand tools, and power tools

  • Cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads, and install panels

  • May fabricate metal parts and fit/install panels, windows, cabin headliners, upper sidewalls, lower panels, hatch panels, etc.

  • Use the material tracking system (Corridor) to create parts demands, track squawks, and sign off work

  • Collaborate with lead and senior technicians to implement process improvements that increase safety and efficiency while reducing costs and cycle time using Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Maintain compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment as required

  • Proactively address unsafe conditions to prevent risk to others

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation

  • Proficient with measuring tools and basic math

  • Computer literacy required

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
