JOB TITLE: Tool Design
LOCATION: Palmdale, CA
PAY RATE: $80-95/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

• Clearance: Active Secret Clearance preferred. Candidates must be eligible for Special Access (SAP) and have an investigation within the last 5 years or be enrolled in Continuous Evaluation (CE). SAP access is required to start.

Summary: 

• Design industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments for production and experimental use.

• Consider accessibility, cost, mobility, and performance requirements in tooling design.

• Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve complex design challenges.

• Independently determine and develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems.

• Serve as liaison between design, manufacturing, engineering, and tooling procurement regarding quality, cost, and schedule.

• Lead process improvement efforts within tool design and planning product flow.

• Utilize 3DX / CATIA for 3D design modeling.

• Create detailed 2D technical drawings to support manufacturing and tooling fabrication.

Requirements:

• Active Secret Clearance.

• Ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within 6 weeks of submission.

• Minimum 7 years of experience designing assembly tooling for aerospace vehicles or similar products.

• Minimum 1 year of CATIA V5 or 3DX design experience.

• Minimum 1 year of experience creating 2D technical design drawings.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
