Job Description

JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Palmdale, CA
PAY RATE: Up to $90/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Collaborate to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling

  • Drive adoption of automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing software to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality

  • Create and analyze 3D model data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions

  • Utilize knowledge of materials and automated processes to define operation procedures and build sequences for operational excellence

  • Evaluate equipment and tool performance, including IoT devices, and initiate corrective actions to resolve deficiencies

  • Ensure process reliability through continuous monitoring and improvement

  • Leverage factory data to develop statistical process control methods and integrate reporting and analytics for continuous improvement

  • Provide input to product design to optimize equipment utilization and manufacturing techniques

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance with investigation within the last 5 years (or Continuous Evaluation enrollment) required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) required.

  • Experience working cross-functionally in manufacturing environments with disciplines such as industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance, or production planning

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, assembly, machining, and electrical work across multiple disciplines (composites, metallics, machining, bonded assemblies, installations)

  • Background in lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives

  • Experience with MRP systems, SAP, or other Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

  • Program Special Access (P29) required to start

  • Experience with “first time build” or first-time product development preferred

  • Proficiency in CATIA V5

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment involving Sub-Systems Installation (with one or more of the above-mentioned disciplines)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
