Job Description

JOB TITLE: MP&P Engineer 2 - Composites/Interior
LOCATION: Mesa, AZ
PAY RATE: $43-59/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shift: 2nd 

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain a secret clearance, not required to start

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Apply chemistry, physics, and materials science to develop and qualify composite materials and processes.

  • Provide technical evaluation and support for composite part fabrication.

  • Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.

  • Create and execute test plans, write reports, and contribute to technical specifications.

  • Qualify/approve equipment, materials, and processes.

  • Support lab testing, supplier coordination, and cross-functional collaboration with design, production, manufacturing, and quality teams.

  • Manage test and audit programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and EHS/LEAN/Quality standards.

  • Work 100% onsite in a dynamic 2nd shift role with opportunities for technical or leadership growth.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship (required to obtain U.S. Security Clearance; interim or final Secret Clearance post-start required).

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.

    • Level 2: Bachelor’s + 2+ years or Master’s degree.

    • Level 3: Bachelor’s + 5+ years or Master’s + 3+ years.

  • Willingness to work 2nd shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with composites, elastomers, and processing techniques.

  • Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry and analytical techniques.

  • Knowledge of epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.

  • Experience with composite failure modes and failure analysis.

  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and report writing.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to present technical data and collaborate across disciplines.
