Job Description

JOB TITLE: Design Engineer (Hybrid)
LOCATION: Orlando, FL (Hybrid)
PAY RATE: $65.38/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Schedule: 4/10 schedule with every Friday off

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Design and develop mechanical layouts for CCA boards and electromechanical systems
  • Perform connector selection, board integration, and tolerance/clearance analysis

  • Utilize PTC Creo and Windchill for 3D design and product data management

  • Support enclosure integration, manufacturing activities, and testing

  • Conduct DFM/DFA reviews and troubleshoot production issues

  • Create and maintain engineering documentation and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, systems, manufacturing, and reliability teams

  • Contribute to test planning and system integration efforts

  • Support cable and harness design (preferred)

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in:

    • CCA board mechanical layout and design

    • Connector selection and manufacturing support

    • PTC Creo and Windchill

    • Exposure to Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product lifecycles

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

  • Ability to produce high-quality engineering documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cable and harness design

  • Prior work in aerospace or defense environments
