JOB TITLE: MP&P Engineer 3 – NDE/Measurement Systems 
LOCATION: Mesa, AZ
PAY RATE: $74.50/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Review, interpret, and report on ultrasonic inspection results.

  • Design, develop, and fabricate reference standards for inspections.

  • Develop NDE inspection plans and sequencing, including method selection and feasibility assessment.

  • Qualify inspection equipment and methods.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for NDT-related MRB.

  • Standardize, document, and train on new inspection processes (e.g., gauge R&R, Probability of Detection studies).

  • Support evaluation and integration of NDT technologies to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Draft and maintain engineering specifications, procedures, and documentation.

  • Interface with multiple engineering teams to align on inspection requirements and capabilities.

  • Assist with the certification and qualification of NDE equipment.

  • Develop computer and production systems to meet technical and operational requirements.

  • Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule goals.

  • Work under guidance from Principal/Senior NDE Engineers to deploy enterprise-wide NDE technologies.

  • Promote standardization across business activities.

  • Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.

  • Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and quality principles into materials, processes, research, and procedures.

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance (Not Required at Start)

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Nondestructive Evaluation.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • ASNT Level 2 or 3 certification in UT, RT, MT, PT, or ET.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including conveying complex technical material to varied audiences.

  • Functional knowledge of:

    • Ultrasonic inspection systems (manual/automated pulse echo, through transmission, pitch-catch, phased array)

    • Radiography, eddy current, magnetic particle, and penetrant inspection systems

  • Experience with reference standard development and fabrication.

  • Familiarity with robotics, 3D modeling, 3D printing, CT scans, or ultrasonic phased array.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use Microsoft Office.
